About the netball coaching

The netball coaching on camp offers a comprehensive, all-round development to support players across every aspect of their game. Sessions focus on building physical performance through strength and conditioning, speed and agility, mobility work, and safe movement techniques such as landing skills and plyometrics.

Players develop their game through positional awareness, technical skills in both attack and defence, and structured gameplay, alongside improving ball handling and movement. Alongside gameplay, there is a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing, recovery methods, and personal growth, ensuring players leave as more confident, well-rounded athletes.

Jodie Gibson - Head Coach

Jodie is a former England international and Commonwealth Games gold medallist, bringing a wealth of elite playing and coaching experience to her role. A versatile defender, Jodie began her Netball Super League career with Manchester Thunder, winning the 2012 title before going on to represent Loughborough Lightning, Severn Stars, and London Mavericks.

A standout moment in her career came in 2018, when she was part of the England squad that secured gold at the Commonwealth Games. Alongside her playing success, Jodie has been deeply involved in coaching and athlete development, particularly during her time with London Mavericks, where she contributed to the pathway programme and was named vice-captain in 2023. She concluded her playing career in 2025, and now brings her passion, leadership, and high-performance insight to developing the next generation of players.

  • Nike Netball Camps are designed for girls aged 12-17 of all abilities who are looking to learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy a fun training experience.

  • Our netball camps cost £895.

    All camps include 4 days of professional coaching, individual coaching feedback and a certificate, accommodation on-site at Millfield School, breakfast, lunch and dinner, 24/7 welfare support, an exclusive Nike kit pack, as well as on-site medical care.

  • Each day balances intensive netball training with recovery and social time. Players take part in two coaching sessions on the court each day, plus workshops, and competitive gameplay. There is an evening activities programme for residential campers as well as meals and down-time to ensure a well-rounded experience.

  • Players train in small groups with expert coaches led by Head Coach, Jodie Gibson, focusing on all aspects of performance including technical skills, fitness, gameplay, and personal development. The programme is designed to develop well-rounded athletes, both on and off the court.

  • Nike Netball Camps are held at Millfield School in Somerset, one of the UK’s leading sporting schools. Players benefit from top-class facilities including hybrid astro courts and an inspiring environment designed to support athletic development.

  • We send out a full kit list to everyone attending our netball camps in advance, this can be found in our Parent Guide (coming soon).

    For all campers, this will include trainers and sportswear for netball training as well as extra layers and a change of clothes for the afternoons if needed. Residential campers will also need to bring casual clothes for evening activities, swimwear, and sleepwear.

  • We provide 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) plus snacks. All meals are nutritionally balanced, and we can accommodate for most dietary requirements. If your child requires any special dietary provision, please let us know in the Player Welfare Form.

  • We ask that all players make their own way to camp, and offer full details and directions on how to get to Millfield School in the Parent Guide. The nearest train stations are Castle Cary (19km), Bristol (46km) and Bath (48km).
