The camp is based at Charterhouse School, a leading English private school where players will be coached by Chelsea FC Foundation in a training programme inspired by the Academy curriculum at Chelsea Football Club, five times champions of the English Premier League. Alongside their football training, players can choose to improve their English language skills with a dedicated team of professional English teachers.
Players experience the best of Chelsea FC with a full day at their Cobham Training Ground including matches against other Chelsea FC Foundation teams and workshops with special guests and experts from the club. Each week concludes with a trip to Stamford Bridge, Chelsea’s home ground, for a prize-giving celebration and a tour of the museum and stadium.
football And english

This intensive programme has been designed by Chelsea FC Foundation to challenge players in two coaching sessions a day alongside workshops.

15th and 22nd July
Players will learn from the girls’ development team behind Chelsea FC Women, 2018 Super League and FA Cup Champions.
The coaching curriculum is designed and delivered by Chelsea FC Foundation, one of the world’s leading football, education and community programmes. Using four key factors of development; technical, physical, psychological and social, players are challenged to improve their individual skills and techniques. On-field coaching is tailored to the level of the individual and focuses on skills development through demonstration, practice and feedback. A weekly training day at Chelsea FC’s Training Centre in Cobham provides an inspirational setting for players to take their training to the next level.
Our professional and dedicated English language teachers use a customised curriculum based on the CLIL approach used in top schools worldwide. Practising communication, reading and writing skills, students will put their learning into context, creating press releases, writing articles, conducting player interviews and researching sports-related media. An entry test groups students by age and ability at the start of the week. With an average of 12 students per class, students get excellent individual feedback.
Players will improve through a combination of coaching, skills challenges and small-sided games. They leave with a better understanding of themselves as a player and gain confidence and insight from an international football environment. Their English skills are developed inside and outside the classroom, improving all aspects of their communication and understanding. All players receive an individual coaching assessment and certificate to take home. Players studying English also receive a detailed weekly report and completion certificate from their teacher.
The camp is based at Charterhouse School, a leading private school near to London where the game of football has been played in one form or another since the early 1800s. The school’s 68-acre site has a vast array of sports facilities amongst it’s impressive school buildings including numerous grass pitches, astro pitches, a tartan athletics track and a golf course.
